Bondage In Vogue, Redux
More than a year ago, I posted about some flak the publishers of the French edition of Vogue took for publishing a calendar insert featuring Karen Elson in very soft-core bondage. Several readers were kind enough to forward this link to the pictures in question, but somehow I dropped the ball on updating the post. Here’s one of the pictures:
I realise that I may have been the last to notice, but when did you start right-click protecting your images? And why? Now I can’t open images in a different window to show it to people who might not appreciate the contents of the rest of the page…
…Also, I’d almost forgotten about this photoshoot. Thanks for reminding me about it :D
It’s not a protection or restriction, anybody can still navigate directly to the image alone on a page, just paste the image url into your browser navigation box — but rather a convenience, designed to make it easier for people to hotlink the image wherever they want, and still get me a link credit for that. A lot of the MySpace crowd doesn’t know how to do that, so the auto hotlink code on right-click helps them (and me) out. True, it makes it harder to view the image alone with two clicks, but I didn’t realize people were wanting to do that.
It’s just an experiment, I may put it back the other way eventually.
Hope this helps explain.
Ah, cheers. [Tries it out]
Yep, that still works. It’s just because some of the tamer/humorous images I tend to share with non-kinky friends who nonetheless appreciate a bit of mild titillation and a laugh, and they don’t always appreciate the sharper end of the spectrum.
Thanks for the clarification!
