Pillory Art
From the style, I think this girl in the pillory might be drawn by John Willie, but I’m not sure. Does anybody know?
Update: Confirmed. Thanks to information sent in by several readers, this image is confirmed as appearing in John Willie’s “Bizarre” magazine.

yes, it’s John Willie!
She’s already showing the public more leg than a Puritan maid should, yet the wind keeps trying to lift her petticoat up! So she clamps her legs together, trying to protect the rest of her modesty.
It won’t work. With her ankles together and in high heels, her position is unstable. Each time she tires and shifts her weight, she will teeter a bit and involuntarily sway her hips, giving a little wiggle that catches the eye.
The narrowness of her corseted waist will accentuate the motion of her ass, to the merriment of the crowd.
Oh for the good-old days, when naughty women be they noble women or peasant girls, were taken to the pillory in the town square. Had their dresses pinned-up, their bloomers taken down, and a good caning, birching, or the whip, rained down on the bare bottoms, with gusto, usually by the mayor of the town.
