Frankly, I have never understood what people find so appealing about the concept of an enema. In regards to bondage, the notion that one so dominates the other that he controls even this most personal of functions is possible, but it really requires a Thundrshark type scenario to do it justice, and even then it is rarely interesting to me. However, to each his own. One of the things that I admire most about your blog is its variety and general good taste. If you have some insights on this matter, I would be fascinated to read them.

Tim, I don’t have an enema fetish, so I can’t really speak for the folks who find it arousing. But I am aware of *some* of the reasons enemas are sexualized:
1) Some people find that including enemas in sex play relieves their concerns about “dirtiness” of anal sex, because they’ve seen to “cleanliness” directly;
2) The sensation, reportedly, can be quite extreme, making it another form of intense pain or pleasure that can be inflicted in a BDSM context;
3) There’s a humiliation factor at work, especially if someone is given an enema and then prevented from releasing it, made to beg to release it, or required to release it in an embarrassing or uncontrolled or supervised way;
4) For some people, the paraphernalia of the enema process (the rubber bag, hoses, nozzles, etc) reinforce fetishes they may have, including rubber or medical fetishes.
Hope that helps!
can be very erotic if done correctly by partners.
i don’t get the anime thing.
Thanks.
Of the four reasons you mention, I would have to say that #3 holds the most promise for me, especially if it was incorporated into a clever predicament tie or similar situation. I suppose one would have to experience an enema directly, of which I have absolutely no desire, before it would really signify anything to them, making #2 at best an abstraction for me. I can imagine quite a mess resulting from such activities, making the cleanliness issue moot, although I do understand what you meant by #1.
Reason #4 is equally puzzling to me, as I have never really understood the medical and rubber fetishes. Again, I stress to each his own. However, I have never understood why someone would take a stunningly beautiful girl, perform some truly brilliant rope work, and then cover her up in an opaque rubber rain suit. The Tied-True fellow and others enjoy doing this, but I simply don’t get it. A lot of ingenious work by Gord is ruined for me by the use of such (to me) silly rubber costumes.
I felt equally confused by Forniphilia, until I saw some quite beautiful sets by Charlottefetish.com. I fully understand that some of these avenues are acquired tastes. By trying to see what others appreciate in them, perhaps I can too.
Actually, I do understand the appeal of Anime with regards to bondage, since as a form it more easily lends itself to a highly stylized presentation of the bondage. Moreover, the exaggerated eyes typical of Anime allow it to be far more expressive, crucial to such drawings. I personally prefer the drawings of Roberts, but Anime can be quite effective. Without this emotive aspect, a lot of bondage simply seems ridiculous. I believe this to be true even in live action, one of the reasons that the Veronika Raquel shoot was so effective for Hogtied, and one of the reasons Jasmine Sinclair videos are laughable, while her photos are incredible.
Cheers,
Timothy
