Water Cure For A Witch
Witches, it is said, were sometimes “encouraged” to confess by being forced to drink painfully large volumes of water. This artwork looks to me like it may have come from a printed Japanese source, but they’re checking her for devil’s marks so I’m fairly sure it’s a witchfinding in progress that we are looking at here:
