Witches In Bondage
Here’s a rare thing: two straight-up bondage photographs by early-20th-century photographer William Mortensen. A lot of his imagery concerned the occult, so I think we may fairly guess these women to be witches undergoing persecution:

Is perhaps the bottom shot displayed improperly? Looks like the right “edge” should be the bottom.
Well, I’m not sure. Mortensen was into the surreal. But now that I’ve rotated the photo for viewing, that table (?) on its end in the shot as displayed is hard to explain…
