He pulled up a chair in front of her, and sat in it, smiling in silence. She smiled back, wondering what he had in mind.
“Are you enjoying youself?” she asked.
“Very much so.”
Several minutes passed. Eventually she asked, “Well, are you going to open the trapdoor?”
Still smiling, he replied, “Be patient. I’ll have to run out to the patio and check. It takes the charcoal a while to heat up.”
The startled look on her face was priceless.
