Dildos That Squirt
Any horny fool can carve a stick or a tusk or a piece of stone into a serviceable cock-substitute. But sometimes, getting screwed is not enough. A 1655 French sex manual called L’École des filles describes such toys in considerable detail. Translated into English as The School Of Venus, its anonymous author wrote:
“I have somewhere read of a king’s daughter who for want of a prick in specie, made use of a pleasant device. She had a brazen statue of a man painted flesh color, and hung with a swinging tarse composed of a soft substance, hollow, yet stiff enough to do the business. It had a red head and a little hole at the top, supplied with a thwacking pair of stones, all so naturally done, it appeared natural. Now when her desire prompted her, she went and eased nature, thrusting that mascarade prick into her cunt, taking hold on the buttocks, when she found it coming, she pulled out a spring and so squirted out of the prick into her cunt a luke warm liquor, which pleased her almost as well as swiving.
Wenches that are not rich enough to buy statues must content themselves with dildos made of velvor, or blown in glass, prick fashion, which they fill with luke warm milk, and tickle themselves therewith, as with a true prick, squirting the milk up their bodies when they are ready to spend.”
Surviving antique sex toys back up this literary account. The photo at the top of this post is of a French dildo from the 1700s. It’s made of carved ivory, with a plunger in the base and a hole in the tip to expel milk or cream at the desired moment.
We are all fortunate that technology marches ever onward. Squirting dildos in 2021 are much better than the primitive sex toys of our ancestors. Vibration, squeeze bulbs or squeezable hollow balls, modern soft materials, and sturdy bases with suction cups or strap-on type harness fixtures are just a few of the important innovations in this pleasure arena.
