I surely would’ve never used the words “Magic” and “Kink.com” in the same sentence. I have subscribed to most of their sites from one time to another and always came away extremely disappointed. Their “Dommes” may be able to tie fast and good knots with rope but their total lack of imagination when tormenting women is absolutely staggering. Well, tastes do differ, but I meant “magic” here in the business sense. At their apex, as a business, they were housed in a fucking castle in downtown San Francisco, and getting busted in the middle of the night for cocaine possession and (alleged) shooting parties on the built-in basement gun range. (I don’t recommend mixing drugs and guns, but that sort of indiscretion is not unprecedented when one-man corporations in the deranged flush of success are buried in money.) So, yeah. I stand by my “magic formula” here, whatever you think of the porn.
For what it’s worth, I agree with you (about the porn) in reference to some of the sites/channels and some of the directors over some relatively-short timescales, but I have not forgotten when the Kink product was quite revolutionary and among the most innovative and/or transgressive commercial BDSM porn available in the USA. All that ground-breaking expensively-produced high-production-value porn is still available to members in the ludicrously deep archives, whatever the company has done in the last few years. Having said all that, I admit to being tired of the director and/or performer bros who can’t get through a twenty minute scene without spitting on a model. I want to tell them “Dude, your spitting fetish is not as universal as you imagine!”
